Critical thinking and its effect on me.

So since I have taken the class Critical Thinking I have started to realize how my mindset has changed about media. I use to watch commercial with a blank face not realizing what I was watching or not caring about the commercial. But now I have started to think about who the commercial is by and how they are trying to persuade to you. It makes me realize the music in the background and how it tries to get you emotionally. It is interesting to see how I see the setting behind them and how it make it appealing to the eye. These little things are just the bare minimum of how these directors think to persuade you into checking out there product slash buy it. Just these thing they do to get in your head without you even thinking about it. Its interesting to see how one class can change your mindset on everything.

As a kid I really didn't have a favorite kind of music I mostly just listened to whatever was on the radio or on the top list of music. Ads Technique and appeals

In Critical thinking we have been learning about many common advertising techniques and how ad companies try and get your attention. We learned over 18 different techniques that ad companies use like weasel words, patriotism, and plain folks appeal. All these techniques are used to grab your attention and persuade you to think about their item and or to buy their item. One ad that grabbed my attention this week was the Geico commercial where the gecko imagines what he would do if he had the power of the infinity gauntlet. What he would do is make it so each person could save as much money as possible on insurance. With Avengers Endgame being the big hit of the month this advertisement intrigues many people while also tell you what the company is all about. This ad company use Testimonial technique to use the big movie of the year to intrigue people to think about there company when they see this movie and or think of this concept. Persuaders

When i think about advertisement that tries and persuade me to pick there item over competitors is places like Samsung. Apple has taken over as the big phone market so Samsung is playing catchup. Every commercial for a new product they try and roast on apple for a certain feature or show that theirs is better. Apple is engrained as the main smartphone and might always be on top. These companies always have to show commercials show why they are better while apple just shows what they have. Other companies that do this same thing is phone services like version, t-mobile, and sprint most people have ATAT and is sort of the king of phone service. While these other service try and bring down the bigger companies to make theres make sense. These smaller ones have to make the most ads just so that they can catch up to the bigger guys.
